Introducing The ‘Own It’ Series

Introducing The ‘Own It’ Series

Repeat after me….

I like to own it, own it.
I like to own it, own it.
I like to own it, own it.
We like to own it!

What’s the ‘it’, I hear you ask? Your life, that’s what ‘it’ is! Don’t be told what you should do in life. Open your eyes to the opportunities out there – today and in the future. Find something you’re passionate about and then take that passion and make it ‘work’ for you. Introducing the ‘own it’ series – helping you to take control of finding a career that has you jumping out of bed each morning…happy! It’s time to ‘own it’!

I’m a big believer that if you really want to do something in life, you can find a way. The hardest part, and the part we get the least help with, is working out what we want to do in life and more importantly why. The first step is to explore the future. After all, it is predicted that within the next ten years most of us will be doing jobs that don’t yet exist! So, how will new technologies and inventions change life as we know it? What will the industries of the future be? What will this mean for the world of work? Hopefully the ‘future world’ posts will help you discover this new world.

Once you’ve found something that interests you, it’s time to experiment. I’m not talking about grabbing a white lab coat, I mean trying things out and seeing what you really enjoy. Perhaps you like the idea of designing virtual experiences? So, make your own VR headset. Or maybe you believe domestic robots are the way forward? Could a friendly robot help in your house? Take a free online course and get building. The more experiments you do, the closer you will be to finding your passion.

So you’ve found it! A fire within you has been lit and you’re ready to begin to turn this newfound passion into a career. As they say…’do something you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life’. It’s time to start making some decisions, focus and take action. It’s time to own your future.

The ‘own it’ series is there to help you experiment and to guide you on your journey of making the ‘future you’ a reality. There’s a lot to think about….and do. So, let’s get cracking (and that includes me….more ‘own it’ posts coming soon!).

It’s time to ‘own it’.

P.S. I was told I should be a librarian – I ignored that advice!
